Summer Trends: Orange Lips

Orange lips are my favorite thing in the whole entire world, but really. Orange is a universally flattering color that puts together an outfit without being overwhelming or too overly done-like a red lip can be at times. Its a fun and carefree color that grabs everyones attention.

If a creamy orange lipstick is a bit scary there are tons of different formulas out there from lip balms to stains that might be in your comfort zone. If you already have a rather strong orange lipstick you can tone it down with applying it with your ring finger in a tapping motion or applying the lipstick after applying a clear lip balm.

Josie Maran Argan Infinity Lip and Cheek Creamy Oil in Timeless Coral $18.00- I love this product so much I went back and got two more colors. It has the popular hydrating argan oil with a hint of color. It's a creamy texture that turns into a light oil and stains the lips a natural hue. It also smells and tastes of tangerine and oranges. Everyone wins.

Tarte Amazonian butter lipstick in Coral Blossom $16.00- Though this is a lipstick, it's more like a lip butter. The color is not intimidating, its  a pretty, wearable coral thats great to give a bit of a tint to the lips. It isn't the most hydrating but I think its great for what it is.

Josie Maran Love Your Lips Hydrating Lipstick in Coral Delight $22.00- This is a 3-in-1 gloss, balm and lipstick, as the brand advertises. The color payoff is rather sheer, however it is buildable to your taste. This is a no-fail foolproof product that gives a hint of color while moisturizing and is great on the go.

Too Faced Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick in Melted Coral $21.00- This is a color for the more adventurous. If you're afraid and aren't sure if you can pull of orange, I recommend you stick to the first three suggestions but if you're ready to try something new, this is for you. The formula of this lipstick is a truly melted, rich, liquid lipstick. All while being ridiculously pigmented and creamy for easy application. Unlike a regular lipstick, this has a slanted doe foot applicator. This can either make it easier or more difficult to apply, depending on your preference.

Bite Beauty High Pigment Pencil in Zinfandel $24.00- My personal favorite color when I'm in the need for a dramatic shock of orange and one of my favorite brands. This is a long-wear matte lipstick that fades into a satin. I love this line because they use food-grade pigments and each lipstick has the same amount of resveratrol, an antioxidant, as five glasses of red wine.

*Trends are a great way to experiment and get out of your comfort zone. Ultimately, trends should be taken with a grain of salt and are great to keep in mind if you ever get bored. But if you're confident with your style, you do you boo.
