Review: The Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette

Urban Decay is an American cosmetics company that was founded in 1996 by Sandy Lerner. The idea behind the brand was to fight the status quo of pink, red, and beige. They introduced a rebellion in make-up.
In 2013 they were acquired by L’Oreal and for a brief month (June-July) had decided on selling in China where animal testing is mandatory in order to sell. However after consumer out cry they decided against it and maintain a cruelty-free title. They do offer select vegan products but are not a complete vegan company.

Urban Decay's Naked Palette

Claims: “The most anticipated sequel of the decade. Naked2 has 12 pigment-rich, taupe and greige neutral eyeshadows. Our palette proves once again, neutral is anything but boring, (and is downright sexy when worn Naked). Feast your eyes on our shades ranging from pale to deep, matte to sparkly. This collection lets you achieve lots of neutral looks, smoky dramatic eyes, and everything in between. Let's just say there's a whole new way to get Naked!”
Pigmentation: All these shades are rich and pure in color. I don’t experience any chalkiness compared to the first Naked palette.
Finish/Texture: All the colors go on very easy on to the lid. The formulas are creamy and silky, the same goes for the glitter however there will be fallout.
Longevity: Without primer it lasts about 2-3 hours on my oily lids. With a primer these last about 7-9 hours.
Packaging: A taupe metal case that shuts manually. Features full top lid mirror when opened and placement for an eyeshadow brush.
Price/Availability: $50 US/Sephora, Ulta, Macy’s, Beauty.com

Foxy: A sheer matte pale beige with yellow undertones.
Half Baked: A shimmery-metallic copper bronze. Also in the first Naked Palette.
Booty Call: A frosted fair beige-pink shade.
Chopper: The definition of a shimmery copper shade. Make note there is fall out.
Tease: A matter dusty mauve shade. The pay off is a bit more difficult with this one.
Snakebite: A dark bronze with a darker golden shimmer.
Suspect: A frosted warm champagne shade.
Pistol: A soft frosted gray-brown color.
Verve: A pale frosted gray with beige undertones, which makes it more grown up and wearable.
YDK: A frosted milk chocolate with copper undertones.
Busted: A frosted deep brown with a bit of burgundy, yet still very warm.
Blackout: A simple matte black that is more on the chalkier side of all the shades.

Likes: The pigmentation and texture is superb. My favorite shade are Booty
Call, Snakebite, Suspect, YDK, and Busted.
Dislikes: All the shades have a similar undertone so they all work together well. My only complaint is the formula of Blackout but that’s about it.
Overall: Out of the two widely popular Naked Palettes, this is definitely my favorite. I find myself using all the shade at one time or another. I also feel the quality and texture of the shadows are better then those from the first.
