Review: LUSH Lip Scrub "Sweet Lips"

With the wicked winter comes colder, drier air. Which can damage hair, cause irritation on the face and body and cause flakes on the lips. None of which is cute and all of which that sucks. I am a huge believer in scrubbing everything; hands, body, face, and lips. Since exfoliating does help speed skin cell turn-over, and create smoother and brighter skin it's something that should be done regularly but the difference between our face, body and hands compared to our lips are that the lips can't remove dry, dead skin. By exfoliating the lips, your lips look plumper, take moisture in better and lip color applies smoother too!

Claims: "Scrub your lips with our sugary Lip Scrubs to make them smooth and tempting. Take a pea-sized amount and scrub your lips soft, then lick off the excess!"

Flavors: Sadly, Sweet Lips has been discontinued however there are three other flavors; Popcorn, Mint Julips, and Bubblegum. The flavors are different but the bases are the same.
Texture: The base is castor sugar and jojoba oil. It gives it a soft, gritty texture that isn't to harsh and still moisturizing due to the jojoba oil.
Packaging: All the flavors are in a 0.9 oz glass container, which a twist off cap. Super simple, to the point.
Price/Availability:$9.95/LUSH Online and In-store
Likes: I've come across a ton of other lip scrubs that are either sugar or microbead based (which is being outlawed in the next year in the state of NY.) I find a lot of them miss the mark, being too rough or too oily and not exfoliating at all. The LUSH lip scrub has achieved a great balance and the extra moisture and softening benefits of jojoba oil add a perk.
Dislikes: The edible aspect of this product is very interesting and unique. It's a great pick-me-up snack but sometimes the flavors might be too strong and sweet for individuals.
Overall: This is definitely my favorite scrub to purchase and recommend it to anyone who's looking for a great lip scrub to get their lips back into shape. Of course it isn't difficult to make your own but sometimes it's more convenient to buy one. I'm interested in playing around with some recipes and make my own. When I do, it will be shared.
